Not Every Address in The Woodlands Hills Is Zoned to the Same Willis ISD School

Children with backpacks walking toward a bright elementary school entrance on a sunny morning.

The Woodlands Hills sits entirely inside Willis ISD, but the district doesn’t send every address in the community to the same school anymore. The Move Live Love TX Team is a husband-and-wife real estate team serving Houston and the surrounding areas, helping buyers and sellers compare neighborhoods on the facts that actually affect a move. Most of the community has long walked to Meador Elementary School and Robert P. Brabham Middle School, both connected to The Woodlands Hills by a pathway. Willis ISD opened a second elementary school inside the community itself in August 2026 and a second middle school nearby a year before that, and both openings came with new attendance boundaries. Two families on different streets of the same neighborhood can now end up zoned to different campuses.

Two New Campuses Redrew the Lines

Willis ISD’s growth around The Woodlands Hills has been fast enough to fund two new campuses off the same $143 million 2022 bond voters approved. Ruth Castleschouldt Elementary School opened August 12, 2026, built inside the community’s own Section 6 off MP Clark Road, with room for up to 1,000 students. Homer Calfee Middle School opened a year earlier, August 12, 2025, on Longmire Road in Conroe, with a 1,200-student capacity built to relieve crowding at Brabham. Neither opening was cosmetic. Willis ISD’s trustees approved new attendance boundaries for Calfee in February 2025 after residents voted between two boundary options, and did the same for Castleschouldt in the first months of 2026, per Community Impact’s coverage of both board actions. Meador and Brabham’s old boundaries didn’t survive either vote unchanged.

The pattern isn’t unique to these two schools. Willis ISD’s own planning department has flagged rezoning as a recurring tool while housing keeps landing across its boundary, not a one-time fix, which means an address zoned one way this year isn’t guaranteed to stay that way through a kid’s whole time in elementary school.

Elementary and Middle School, By Section

As of September 2026, The Woodlands Hills’ own community materials list four zoned Willis ISD campuses instead of the original two. Which elementary and middle school pair a given address lands in depends on the section and phase it sits in, not on the neighborhood’s name on the sign out front.

School level Schools now serving parts of The Woodlands Hills What decides which one
Elementary Meador Elementary School, or Ruth Castleschouldt Elementary School (opened August 2026) The section and phase the address sits in
Middle Robert P. Brabham Middle School, or Homer Calfee Middle School (opened August 2025) The section and phase the address sits in
High Willis High School The same for the whole community

One High School, No Matter Where You Buy

The high school row in that table is the one that doesn’t move. Willis ISD runs a single traditional high school district-wide, so a family in an older section near Meador and a family in a brand-new phase near Castleschouldt both end up at Willis High School, east of I-45 on FM 830, next to the district’s roughly $40 million career and technology center. That’s a real contrast with a multi-high-school district like Conroe ISD, which zones its own Woodlands-area villages across several campuses and periodically shifts those lines as new sections fill in. Buyers coming from a district like that sometimes assume The Woodlands Hills works the same way. It doesn’t, at least not above the middle school level.

How to Check Before You Write an Offer

Willis ISD keeps a boundary locator on its own site, where a specific address gets checked against the current map instead of a community’s general school list. That’s worth doing before writing an offer in The Woodlands Hills specifically, since the district has redrawn these lines twice in the past two years, and sections still filling out toward build-out could see boundaries move again as Willis ISD keeps adding capacity, the same growth pattern that produced Calfee and Castleschouldt in the first place.

We check the exact address against Willis ISD’s current boundary maps before a buyer we’re working with writes an offer here, because “somewhere in the neighborhood” isn’t a good enough answer when a rezoning already happened twice in two years. If price is weighing on the decision too, we broke down what different budgets buy section by section in What Your Budget Actually Buys in The Woodlands Hills, and our overview of the community covers what else is built out today.

A rezoning notice from Willis ISD doesn’t come with a yard sign, so most buyers never see one until move-in week, when the school bus route looks nothing like what the builder’s site plan implied. Ask which section you’re buying into. Check it against the district’s current map before you sign anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

What elementary school is The Woodlands Hills zoned to?
Most of The Woodlands Hills is zoned to Meador Elementary School, but Willis ISD opened a second campus, Ruth Castleschouldt Elementary, inside the community in August 2026 and redrew the boundary lines, so some sections now zone to Castleschouldt instead. Check the specific address before assuming either one.
Does every home in The Woodlands Hills feed into Willis High School?
Yes, every address in The Woodlands Hills feeds Willis High School on FM 830 east of I-45, since Willis ISD runs only one traditional high school district-wide. Elementary and middle school zoning are what change by address here, not the high school.
What middle school serves The Woodlands Hills?
Robert P. Brabham Middle School, connected to the community by a walking pathway, has long served The Woodlands Hills, but Willis ISD opened Homer Calfee Middle School in August 2025 to relieve crowding and redrew middle school boundaries, so both campuses now serve parts of the community.
Why did Willis ISD rezone schools near The Woodlands Hills?
Willis ISD funded two new campuses, Calfee Middle School and Ruth Castleschouldt Elementary, through a $143 million 2022 bond, and redrew attendance boundaries both times to fill the new buildings and relieve overcrowding at Meador Elementary and Brabham Middle School.
How do I find out exactly which school my address in The Woodlands Hills is zoned to?
Use Willis ISD's own attendance zone locator on willisisd.org and search the specific address, rather than relying on a general community school list, since two rezonings in the past two years mean neighbors on different streets can be zoned to different elementary or middle schools.
